What to Do When You Realise You Are Losing Hair

First thing you should stop yourself from being stressed and feeling helpless. Most of the time people make the mistake of thinking their hair loss is genetic and nothing can be done to stop or reverse this.

Fortunately most of the hair loss cases are not genetic. And even if your paternal or maternal uncle is a bald person that does not necessarily mean that you are predisposed for baldness. The most important part is genes do not make anybody bald or otherwise. The hair follicles may show a tendency to weaken early because of genetic effects. Now if you can successfully counter this weakening by healthy habits you have more than fair chance.

Irrespective of rogue gene's presence or otherwise some precautions and couple of healthy habits can effectively deal hair loss. Here below are some of the things that you will find helpful.

Never allow your body to get dehydrated: being dehydrated for prolonged period of time damages hair follicles tremendously. As a rule of thumb keep in mind if you feel thirsty you are dehydrated. Make it a point to ensure you are never thirsty.

Sleep deprivation can rake havoc on your skin. You need to have at the very least seven hours sleep every night. If for some reason you cannot get seven hours sleep at night time compensate it by taking daytime naps.

Hair follicles thrive on good blood circulation and lack of it weakens them. So make sure blood circulation in your scalp is not restricted in any way. Tight hair-bands, helmets etc can easily interfere with circulation. If you can't stop wearing them for some reason try to get some good massage of your scalp at least twice in a week.
