The Disadvantages of Condoms

In today’s society contraceptives are sincerely necessary to protect a person from STDs and pregnant, and for men, the condom is the only form of birth control that is not permanent. The condom is basically a rubber glove for the penis, available in many different sizes it is supposed to fit snugly down the shaft touching the base and is extremely effective if used correctly. So, what are the downfalls of the condom? What stops people from using this extremely beneficial product and how can they avoid that problem without discontinuing the use of condoms.

Some men say that they cannot keep an erection after putting on a condom. Based on the reason, this may be able to change. If the reasoning is discomfort, there are thinner condoms available, these condoms still provide safety but without as much of the feeling involved. Others argue, that it ruins the mood, putting on the condom is annoying because by the time the condom is on the mood has been ruined and the erection is fading. This problem, like the first, is simple to fix. For example, instead of taking time to put the condom on yourself, have your partner do it for you. Perhaps her putting on the condom in a sexual way or as a form of foreplay will keep you in the zone and ready to continue on with your evening, or day, with much less interruption.

Another problem said to have been experienced by some women is the problem of too much friction. Some women say the condom adds too much friction and makes it more difficult to penetrate comfortably. This problem is another quick fix, condom companies such as Trojan condoms and Durex condomsoffer lubricated condoms that can help ease this discomfort. Some even offer different sensations for a more enjoyable sexual experience for both you and your partner and most often there are ways around small problems such as these. Don’t let your mind rationalize such excuses.

These disadvantages should not be enough to stop you from using a condom during intercourse, not only do condoms help to promote safe sex but they keep you secure and less likely to have any unwanted circumstances including STD’s and unwanted pregnancy from occurring. Remember that each condom should only be used once, and penis and condom should be pulled out directly after ejaculation so that the semen doesn’t leak as the erection fades. Every time you ejaculate in a condom, a new one should be used before re-entry and there should always be space left at the tip for the semen to go to, otherwise the semen may come up over the edges. Some males say they are allergic to condoms, it’s a good thing for them that condoms come in different makes, not just latex.
