Problems with acne can be devastating. Not only is the problem with unsightly sores but also with the way you think people are looking at you. This can be damaging to the way you feel about yourself. It can take years, sometimes decades, to be completely eradicate acne. But there are some simple procedures that can be done at home that will help.
Before we explore two simple techniques we must first understand acne. This condition was frequently affects adolescents as well as adults and sometimes children. There are also some women who experience outbreaks of acne just before and after their cycle. This is also true for pregnancy and those entering the menopausal state. Most of the states are the result of hormonal imbalances within the body which can rectify themselves sometimes.
Some sufferers are more prone to developing acne than others. For example, if you have naturally oily skin you a far more likely to develop spots and pimples simply because the oil contains organic matter from the skin surface that can allow bacteria to breed. More especially so if this residue is allowed or forced into pores or hair follicles.
There are many different degrees of acne and knowing which one you have will greatly help in their treatment. Some sufferers only have small red spots and virtually no inflammation at all. Another common type is where a pore or follicle has been infiltrated with organic matter and bacteria to form a vessel for festering infection. Cystic acne, however, is regarded as the worst type as the face or body can become entirely or in patches with raised red bumps of varying sizes and shapes.
Most common treatment for the first two types is the use of salicylic acid or some type of peroxide solution. Being highly acidic and corrosive they destroy bacteria as well as reduce the size of the swelling. These products are often used in the treatment of warts. In the last two types the most effective treatment is a medication. Very often this comes in the form of an antibiotic or another type of blood treatment which is taken as a pill internally. There are also topical creams, including steroid based dermal treatments.
In either case some simple steps should be used to prevent or slowdown the outbreaks of acne. The use of a non intrusive and ph balanced face and body wash would cleanse the skin of debris and oil, without irritating the pores. Many lotions for acne are acidic and overuse will cause the skin to become irritated and reddened. In many cases the skin will peel away like sunburn.
It is also recognized that food products that are refined or contain large amounts of processed ingredients especially fats, have a direct contribution to the outbreak of acne. Purchasing and consuming foods that are health conscious or hand prepared can avoid this as much as possible. It is worth noting that items such as flour and baking fats are themselves sometimes highly refined. If possible prepare as many meals yourself with as many natural and raw ingredients as possible. Sometimes the use of dairy produce in the diet can also trigger outbreaks. To make sure you're not one of these you must omit or derivatives from your intake, and only then can you be sure that it is a main course.
The simple tips I hope will be of use to you and that you implement them as quickly as possible. At worst you have nothing to lose but you will of course have much to gain.
