A PRESENT EXPERIENCE-A FUTURE ASSET!

I rest with my body laid over the sofa and with my arms crossed behind my neck rested over the sides, catching the pleasant picture of the partially lit world in the evening when a thought hits my mind. I am about to join a highly-ranked professional course and the classes are to start within weeks. I think to myself-"So, here begins a journey to secure the future."Blankness then reigns for seconds. And then again-"Ahh!That's nothing special! That's what I've done so far and will perhaps do all my life. That's what all of my kind do-from the onset of realizations to the end of the world-trying to ‘secure' the future. That's why men learn-get into jobs-buy insurances and raise offsprings. I am about to do the same, trite thing, and the men around me are celebrating as if heavens have stepped down on earth. How can there be any mirth in a life where only the future holds importance and nothing is left for the present? I can see men fully engaged in modeling a joyful future in the present, and when this joyful ‘future' becomes ‘present' it is no more joyful, it is overlooked and neglected in the lust of another joyful future. In a similar manner I can see men passing up each and every opportunity to rejoice in the present just because all their focus directs towards the future." A parrot flies past my window and rests on a branch of a lush-green mango tree. Brilliant camouflage! A true excellence of nature! One's eyes could easily brush past the scene without the parrot coming into notice and miss the exquisite pleasure that lies in it. Only when one attentively looks into it does he get a glimpse of the magnificent creature and its planned relations with its neighbours. The experience throws me into contemplation again, "Life turns barren if it is not lived in the present. Also, planning the future is necessary to assure happiness in the life to come. Why not distribute our concern, our focus equally between these two categories? Yes. That's possible. If we look through the importance of these phases and stop being fastidious, we can meet the needs of the present without compromising the ones of the future. All it demands is a crystal clear understanding, and a ‘mindful' glance." The parrot decides to quit the mango tree and flies away, perhaps thinking that it has completed all it had to do- PERHAPS TO DELIVER THIS ENLIGHTENING MESSAGE TO ANOTHER,'LUCKY' GUY!!
