How to cope with changes in your businessOver 500 years ago, Christopher Columbus sailed from southern Spain in search of a new world. Only Columbus believed the world was round compared to the rest of Europe, which believed that the world was flat. After a year of sailing west, in 1493 Columbus found his new world and proved to the known world that the world was round. The European were very ecstatic of Columbus discovers right! No! An entire generation died refusing to believe that the world was round. Why do people resist change? Mark Twain said of change: "The only people who like change is a wet baby."
Change will happen no matter what. Try to use the change as an opportunity to learn something new. J Wallace Hamilton said, "Every person's life is a diary in which he or she means to write one story and is forced to write yet another." If you want to have a more profitable business or reach more people to help, requires change. Make a commitment to change and remember there usually is a price to pay either monetarily and or some sort of personal sacrifice. Allow some of those changes in your live to propel your business beyond what you envisioned and along the way enjoy the ride. |
