Persons born on a Tuesday are sometimes assumed to be mangliks or said to have a mars-dominated nature, which is untrue. Also, there is no such term as a ‘double manglik dosha', as used by a few astrologers. Having mars in one of the above mentioned planets and also in its own sign in exaltation does not make one a ‘double manglik'. In fact, the latter phenomenon only reduces the effect of a manglik dosha. Another very common misconception is that if a manglik person marries, the spouse of the manglik person is bound to die or suppose to suffer from serious health ailments unless he/she is a manglik too. This happens in the rarest of cases, where Mars is severely afflicted or just, probably because the overall horoscope is weak.

Manglik Dosha is given utmost importance during marriage. People are very apprehensive about marrying a manglik person, even if the effect has been cancelled out. The location of Mars in the natal Chart and the Navamsa Chart D-9) determines the nature of trouble, it can cause in the marriage.  The overall strength of the planets should be assessed, especially regarding aspects from any benefic planets on the 7th house and 7th lord.

The age of a manglik person at the time of marriage is another factor that should be considered. The maturity age of Mars is believed to be 28 upon after; the malicious effects of Mars on a manglik person are reduced when he or she crosses that age limit.
