Embrace Your Humanness. Stop being a Perfectionist

To be born a human is nothing short of a miracle. But the inevitability of a human to fail cannot be denied. It is through our failures only that we have reached great heights. The human race has survived millions of catastrophes to be where it is today. But if it were millions of catastrophes that we survived, it took us million of years to be where we are today. From a bicycle to an aeroplane, from a humble arrow to a sophisticated  cruise missile, from a primitive abacus to a computer, our history is sprinkled with failures and triumphs. Our failures are but a step forward.

Like a plant invariably grows in the direction of the sun, we humans tend to move towards perfection. A plant is never able to reach the sun howsoever tall it grows, likewise we humans too cannot attain perfection. There have always been new challenges and a different set of problems to tackle. Every day comes with its own setbacks and triumphs.

In order to lead a peaceful life we need to embrace our failures and achievements with equal zeal. We need to drop the idea of perfection from our nature and replace it with the idea of all round growth. The idea is to do something or anythingwell, to giveourbest shotand to do it with the best ofour ability. Nothing more and nothing less. Then even if the outcome of our action is not the way we desired it to be at least we have the satisfaction that we did give it our best shot - whatever that might be.

I understand that we are constantly bombarded with that perfect product being sold on a commercial by a perfect bodied model. But I think deep down we all realise that they are not so perfect after all. They are just trying to psyche us into buying it! Are we so naïve, so gullible?

The ocean of Humanity is made of endless "Me" and "you". If we as individuals can take our fallibility in stride we will be saved from lot of pain and misery that we cause to ourselves and to others.

Happy Living!
