He loved his wife very much. But because of his father there was often conflict between them. His wife did not want to live with his bed-sick father together. Their conflicts sometimes overstep all limits.
Once upon there was a quarrel about the same theme between them. This time the woman made a resolute condition saying:
“Either I shall leave this home or you’ll take out your father from this house.”
He felt as if someone poured boiling water over his head. He didn’t know what to do. He loved his wife very much, he could never think about divorcing from her. He had struggled very much, and met with a lot of difficulties to get marry to his sweet-heart. There was no problem between them, except the problem connected with his ill father. His wife loved her husband too. On the other hand they had also a son by name Nuran.
Now he was totally desperate. In one hand his wife who he loved as a mad, but in the other hand his own father. He had to choose one of them. After thinking a lot, he found a way out.
Some years ago he had built a small hut in the nearest mountain. As he was interested in hunting, sometimes he had passed his days in that hut. But as he had a lot to do, he had not gone there for a long time. At last he decided to take his father to this hut and visit him once in a week to take everything that his father would need. He could not think any other way. He packed all the things that were necessary for his father ant carried them to the car. Then he took his father into his arms and seated him into the car. As his son insisted on going with him too ,he decided to take him with himself.
It was a cold winter day. The weather was colder in the mountain. As it snowed the whole night, the way had been covered with snow. Little Nuran often asked:
“Daddy, where are we going?”
But he could get no reply. But the old father understood where and why he was being taken, that is why he shed his tears secretly. After going a long way at last they reached the hut. The hut had been neglected for a long time, that is why it was on the point of collapsing. The ceiling and the floor had already rotted. After the son cleaned around a little, he laid out a bed on the ground and carried the rest of the things to the hut. Then he made his father’s bed comfortable.
He could not help from looking at his old and sick father. He understood that he was doing a very big infidelity. He could not keep from weeping.
Although it had passed only a few minutes since the old man was laid to the bed, but he had already began to shiver. The son tried to soothe his conscience saying to himself:
“I shall come tomorrow again, bring a thick quilt and some blanket.”
Nevertheless he himself knew well that ,the probability of his old and sick father’s being survive till the morning in such condition was very little.
The old father’s heart was bleeding. It was very difficult for him being left alone by his own son who he had brought up with a thousand and one difficulties. It had touched his fatherhood pride.
But little Nuran could not understand anything about all those things that had been happening in front of his eyes. He looked all these things from a side simply.
It was already the time to go. The son leaned toward to his father’s bed. He kissed his father’s wrinkled cheeks and hands in tears. He embraced his father as if he was telling: “Forgive me”
The old man losing himself burst out sobbing. Then the son took Nuran’s hand and went out. The car had already moved away from the hut
. But Nuran did not keep his crying. He did not want to separate from his grandfather.” He asked again and again :
“Why you’ve left my father in a cold hut alone?”
When he didn’t get any answer, this time he said:
“Daddy, when you are old, I’ll bring you to this hut too.”
This unexpected word from Nuran struck as a thunder in the father’s head. At once he turned the car back, drove toward the hut fast. As soon as he reached the hut he embraced his =father saying:
“Forgive me, daddy, forgive.!”
The father and the son embracing each-other cried as a child.
The old father: “ My son, I knew you would come back. Because I myself
didn’t leave my father too.”
The story that we read above is a good lesson for all of us. I mean we all must love our parents most of all in this world ,even more than our closest friends and sweet-hearts in order to see respect from our own children in future.
“Why?” you can ask
“First of all because they are our mother and fathers.
Their love to us is inexhaustible. Whatever happens, their love to us never ends.
