How TO Choose Your Dust Mite CoverAs most people with allergies know, dust mites are a huge problem and one of the biggest allergens that causes them problems. If you wake up in the morning and you are still tired, have puffy eyes, stopped up nose and you don't start feeling better until you been up for awhile then there is a pretty good chance you are allergic to dust mites. The good news is dust mite allergies are pretty easy to control. Just put a dust mite cover on your mattress, pillows and box springs. Dust mite covers keep the dust mites already in your bedding in the bedding. They can't get to their food source and their allergens can't get to you. One of the biggest questions we get is which dust mite cover is best for me. Dust mite covers come in two different styles, with a membrane and without. The covers with the membrane stop all allergens, are water proof and also work for bed bugs. This type of dust mite cover is best for children's beds, people with incontinent problems or bed bugs. They are also the least expensive of the covers. The non membrane or mirco weave dust mite covers are the coolest and lightest. When looking at these types of dust mite mattress covers you need to pay attention to the pore size of the fabric. The smaller the pore size the better protection. Dust mite covers with a pore size less than 6 microns is find for dust mites. These covers are great for adults and hot sleepers. We recommend the 100% cotton dust mite covers for the memory foam mattress because it breathes the best of all the covers. Also keep in mind the dust mite cove r will have a sheet on top of it so in most cases you will never even know it is there. The main thing is to put a dust mite cover on your bed. I am still amazed at the number of people that never put one on even after their doctors tells them to.Cover your bed and sleep better tonight. Wishing you the best of health, Mike Krause |
