Las Vegas Painter Found Hanging in Stairway

A Las Vegas house Painter was found hanging in the stairwell. Seamingly Straight Wallpapering and Painting is a licensed State of Nevada Contractor. Bruce Pyle looked for weeks to find a qualified company. “With the economic recession on everyone is pretending to be a legal worker, dogs and cats are showing up for work. Jimmy was prompt, clean, courteous, and even let our dogs out over the weekend. Friday August 2nd we came home to find Jimmy hanging in the stairwell.” The State of Nevada requires any and all people who wish to work in Nevada to apply for the right to work in the State. The Nevada State Contractors Board was created to minimize the lawsuits caused by illegal workers. The kicker is a home owner can unwittingly hires an unlicensed painter and commit a misdemeanor in doing so!

The Nevada State Contractors Board needs to publish and enforce its rules more consistently. In the last few weeks I conducted a simple survey. I visited 20 stores where paint is sold to the public and “Contractors” I ask the obvious professional painters if they have their Contractors License, 8 out of 10 times they did not have a Contractors License. If a painter has an accident on private property and is illegal, the homeowner pays for all the medical and legal costs. The homeowner is in a pinch, they have committed a misdemeanor and opened the door for the professional lawsuit labor force. In financially tight times a few shady groups begin to work. Once you hire these people and they hurt themselves on your property they have you for life. You could be paying them monthly to keep them from legally perusing you.

Educate yourself before you open your home and sanctuary to an illegal worker. They may not have good will towards you. Visit the Nevada State Contractors Board and validate the workers before they set foot on your property.
