Building Positive States

We all do this unconsciously all the time.

Imagine a time when you were feeling negative and how you mentally pushed yourself down a timeline that had all the worst outcomes for you built into it. You know you have done it. I have!

‘There's no point in doing XYZ because it won't work out and then I'll feel worse and wish I hadn't bothered and everyone will laugh at me and then I'll feel worse and I'll be more broke than I am now and then I'll feel worse, etc. etc.'

We have all done the reverse as well. When we are really fired up about something and we go screaming down the timeline at a thousand miles per hour and everything works out with
spectacular results and we picture ourselves as conquering heroes who get the job or the girl or the money or whatever. I bet you even got a little excited remembering such a time, right?

We would all love to be a movie Director and make a blockbuster, perhaps even with ourselves in the starring role. Well guess what? You are the Director of your own life and you are the star.

So what's you movie going to be like?

Is it going to be Forrest Gump where you triumph over life in spite of your shortcomings or is it going to be the Blair Witch Project?

Are you going to meet a sticky end in a tent clutching a Handycam or skip off into the sunset
with the girl/guy to the applause of the rest of the world. Hmm…Tough choice!

If you fancy being an action movie Director, why not load up your Uzi 9mm with a magazine
full of ‘Shut The Hell Ups' and blast all your negative thoughts to purgatory like Arnie.
