IT IS TIME FOR ACTION- NO MORE DELAY

A philosopher once said that the richest place in the whole world is the grave because many people die without fulfilling their purpose. Every one of us has a talent to develop, use and make great impacts.

Often times, people do nothing to identify and develop their talents. They postpone what ought to be done now till later. It often causes regret when the price of what left undone stares us in the face. Procrastination is an expensive habit. How then do we come out of our procrastination and plunge into action?

The first step is to admit that we are responsible for our actions and stop blaming others for our mistakes. Accept your weakness- accept that your failure to set your goals and achieve your dreams was because you procrastinated, make a strong decision to change your weakness into strength and turn your ideas into reality.

It is important to ask yourself in what forms you have been procrastinating. Simply pick up your biro and start writing it down because it is better to think on paper as it helps you to stay focused and remember vividly those times you missed appointments for no just reason, those moments you simply do not feel like doing what you should do, such as times you did not visit a sick relative, not return a call of your beloved, and so many other things, such as failure to keep appointments, etc, which you put off for another day for no reason at all or simply because you do not feel like doing.

Procrastination makes us loose opportunities. It takes us a step away from becoming better from developing and imbibing professional qualities and two steps away from building good rapport with other professionals and experts. When you measure the consequences of a missed opportunity because you procrastinated, ask if the consequence was worth the delay.

In fast-paced societies, people tend to think of time as precious and valuable.  Expressions such as ‘time means money,' ‘you missed a window of opportunity' reinforce the value of time. One of the ways that will not make us procrastinate is to figure out the dollar amount of something that was not done because of procrastination. It all points to the generally accepted idea that time is money. This alone can serve as a strong motivator not to procrastinate again.

When we change our attitude, when we put an end to procrastination, it will make us appreciate the life we have now.  And as we build on the small steps, we'd be amazed at how much we can accomplish over the years.

In deciding not to procrastinate, you may want to accompany this determination with clear cut and well defined goals, which should be supported with strong desire to achieve the best in all your endeavours.
