How to Find Success Through Optimism

In life, every moment you are offered choices. You might say that life itself is making choices. You may choose to have a pessimist's view and live a self-defeated life or you may choose to take the optimist's route and have a challenging and fulfilling life.

Optimists expect the greatest. Because of the law of attraction they tend to get the greatest. No matter what form it takes they are able to see the benefit or the gift in any situation they end up in. They tend to think defeat is just a minor delay, and just the Universe's way of making everything happen in perfect timing.

Optimists generally find the good in any situation. They don't plan for the worst to happen but even when something happens that others feel is a terrible situation they often find the lesson within and take it as a learning experience. This is one of the key differences between optimists and pessimist. Pessimist will often dwell on the problem and the "why did this happen to me" and optimists look beyond the situation at hand to find the lesson and how they can use this experience to their advantage in the future.

Bright expectancies of optimists also forecast better reactions during transitions to new environments, unexpected tragedies and unlikely turn of events. If they fall, they will stand up. They see opportunities instead of obstacles.

People react positively to optimists. Optimists are upbeat and less dependent on others for their happiness. They are also more happy no matter what the situation or circumstances. They find this happiness from within themselves and don't use the external world to "make them feel good". They find no need to control or influence people. They usually draw people towards them. Their optimistic view of the world can be catching and influence those they are with.

Optimism seems a socially desirable trait in all communities. Those who share optimism are generally accepted while those who spread gloom, panic and hysteria are treated unfavorably and in some cultures even ostracized.

When the going gets tough, optimists get tougher. Pessimists are more likely to quit trying when difficulties arise. Optimists typically maintain higher levels of subjective well being during times of stress than do people who are less optimistic. They persevere. They just don't give up easily, they are also known for their patience. Inching their way a step closer to that goal or elusive dream.

Optimists are healthier and live longer. Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive attitude can cause a considerable boost in the body's ability to fight disease. The law of attraction states "That which is like unto itself is drawn". So people with a more optimistic outlook tend to attract more life experiences that give them reason to be optimistic.
