11 Ways To Survive This Recession!

Our country and all those around us have experienced sudden changes in the economy and we must learn to adapt, evolve and change withthis recession.  This change causes many a distraction from all that’s going on around us and catches us off guard.  Habits we have grown accustomed to can make it difficult for us to maintain a positive outlook as we react to changes, for instances higher prices and reduced or lost wages which force us to cut back.  Stress results in anger and if not kept in check can have a long lasting negative affect.  Such a strong underlying emotion causes change in the person you once were.  If this continues you may soon become someone who you, friend and loved ones don’t recognize or even like.

We are all creatures of habit.  Stop and think about your day to day activities, could you suddenly stop drinking coffee, drink it black, with cream and sugar or anything different from your regular.  Could you wake up in the morning eat breakfast if you normally don’t or skip it if you normally eat it with little to no effort?  It doesn’t take long to realize to what extreme we are guided by our habits.   We are indeed creatures of habit.  Can you imagine how to use this to your advantage and put habits to work for your greater good?

Anything you do regularly takes hold and in as little as 21 days becomes a rock solid habit.  Habits are things we do without thought or effort.  It only takes a few weeks of effort and focus to build a habit.  Your brain is hardwired to program habits making them a regular part of your day.  In short a small commitment of your time pays off big.

Strong emotions and desire for something will help take hold more quickly and with less effort.  This is why when a person decides they are tired of being over weight and want change with great passion that they loose a lot of weight quickly.

It’s hard to stay positive when you’re faced with new hardships more frequently.  We face reality checks that call for a serious dose of realism and with this comes serious thought and yes the dreaded worry.  It is vital to remember and count your blessings daily.  Be thankful for your home, food, electric, phone, and most importantly your kids.  This is a time to appreciate the little things.  Don’t get sucked down with depression and anger!

The Bright Side …

The theme here is change and adaptability and anyone doing so has the honor of reinventing themselves and improves their life.  People like this fill the pages of history  books because in times like these, while the rest of the country was distracted, they moved ahead and did not give up and found a way to evolve and make the best of it.  The quality that moved these successful people through to the finish line to receive their medal was determination.

The Great Depression did two things;

1 - Left a lot of people who talk and talk about how bad it was and live in the past.

2 - Created great success for those who choose to change and adapt finding a new way.

Yesterdays Great Depression is today’s Recession!  Which of the two groups will you be apart of when this recession has become a new chapter in the history books and what stories will you live to tell?
