Green Moong Dal Sprouted SaladDiet plays an important role in determining one’s health. Taking a balanced and nutritious diet can provide the health benefits to a person. Food is a very important part of any holiday, picnic party, family get together or any kind of celebration. Especially during this holiday season, it is very hard to resist on all these yummy food we are surrounded by but you have to balance the nutrition and taste as well for health reasons. Then including salads in your diet can be incorporate in our meals. Green moong dal sprout salad is a very refreshing and healthy salad. Dal is good source of proteins and calcium. Dal when sprouted turn out to be sweeter and this combo goes well with cucumbers, lemon and green chili. It is also an important veggie thus, contains lot of health benefits along with it. To make sprout made of moong dal you need 2 cups sprouts of moong dal. Take a large onion which is peeled and cut in small pieces, 2 green chilies which are chopped well, and a tomato whose seeds are removed and cut in small pieces, 2 tablespoon coriander leaves which are chopped and mint leaves. To make the dressing of sprout you need tablespoon good vinegar it could be malt or red wine or balsamic, Salt to taste, Black pepper to taste, 1 tbs. whole grain mustard paste, 1 tsp. ground sugar, 1/2 tsp. roast, coarsely ground cumin seed you can either use or not use the cumin seeds as it is optional. To make the dish you have to wash and drain the sprouts. Take a small jar. Now, place vinegar, salt, pepper, mustard, cumin, sugar in a small jar and shake well to make a dressing. Take a huge bowl and place all salad ingredients in a bowl, pour dressing and mix gently. You can serve freshly made or chilled. To ad seasoning of the sprout you can add other things like paneer (cheese) squares to it. This simple salad can be served with and tandoori meats, other Indian starters or with garlic and other breads. |
