The Proper Obesity Treatment

Obesity or overweight is one of the major problems nowadays along with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. A person is considered obese or overweight if the Body Mass Index or BMI is between 25 and 29.9. To deal with the problem of obesity is really difficult. It is a common perception that obesity is cause by over eating.

Obesity occurs when there are more intakes of fatty foods and there are fewer calories burned. In such a case, it may result either to heart attack, stroke or other heart problems. We can say that the family's history play a great role in this obesity problem. The best way is to consult your doctor as early as possible so as not to cause serious bodily problem.

A balanced and proper diet with exercise is the proper solutions for this problem. The usual advice of doctor's when it comes to diet is to eat low calorie or low carbohydrate foods as well as regulated diet which consists of more green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, sea foods and whole wheat products. Your choice of fruits would be more on papayas, apples, pineapples, bananas and grape fruits. For vegetables, choices would be mushrooms, swamp cabbages, lettuces, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and potatoes. Since fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber, they are needed more by the body for the release of toxins and wastes. For grains, it could be a choice of wheat bread, brown rice, crackers and pita bread. Desserts would include low fat yogurt, sherbet or frozen fruits.

Water is important for us not to crave for more foods. Besides, water is important to our body because it can release dirt from our body. It is advised to drink at least eight medium sized glasses of water a day. You can add this to, green tea, veggie juice or fresh fruit juice but you still have to maintain the required quantity of water.

Together with a balanced and proper diet, physical exercise or activity is necessary. It is just a matter of thirty minutes exercise per day for three days a week. If you are not used to this, then start a walking exercise. This is not hard to do. Now if you are familiar with this, then you can go jogging, running, bicycling or even participating in sports activities. These are needed to make our body physically healthy but if you prefer a more relaxing exercise, then you can try either yoga or meditation. All you need is full concentration to make these activities successful. Obesity cannot be cured by an overnight exercise. It takes time so it needs your patience, perseverance and persistence in order that you can see more successful results.

Another treatment for obesity is surgery but this is costly and ordinary individuals could not afford it; taking into consideration the economic condition ofthe country. Even drug intervention is not affordable to most people.
