Manifesting ResultsLast night I was driving home from teaching a motivational class. One thing many students focused on after the presentation was how tomanifest results in life, through the process of visualization. We were talking long term stuff, like who you saw yourself as, professionally. This works on a short-term basis too. Ever been in a rush? Feeling like your going to be late? Feeling like you’ll encounter every roadblock possible? Here's the thing: If you think it, you will manifest it. Case in point Last night after class I was driving home. The route to my house is a twisty windy road without street lights. There was a car in front of me, and eventually a car behind me. The person in this car behind me seemed to be in a rush, and to urge me on, that person drove within a few feet behind me. A vehicular bum rush I call it. As I was a motorcycle instructor for a decade, I did what I have always taught my students to do: I pulled over and let that person drive on a head of me. Sure enough, that person also did the vehicular bum rush to that car in front of me. Guess what happened … that lead car did EXACTLY what the bum-rusher was fighting against: the lead car slowed down. The speed limit is 60k. Meaning cars typically drive at 70k. But when it’s dark and the twisty road is unfamiliar, non-local drivers slow down. And when there’s a highly perched van with lights beaming in from a few feet behind you, that restricts vision even more. And that slows you down even more. Now, I don’t know if the driver of the lead car drove slow to antagonize the bum-rusher, or if the closely following headlights limited the night vision of the driver, but that doesn’t really matter. The fact is that the lead car often slowed down to 30k, going around the corners and sometimes just because, and that made the bum-rusher - who was in a hurry - arrive even later at their destination. What the bum-rusher anticipated and focused on by struggling against was realized. The message for me was a reminder that we can each manifest what we visualize, and this immediate and short-term example is as true and real as the long term. Pick your path. Pick your mood. Will you be negatively focused or positively? Will you be angry or happy? Will you fear or love? Really, it is within your ability to choose. You may not be able to control what happens to you (the bum-rusher didn’t choose to have this car in front of them) but you can always choose your response (bum-rusher picked agressive and negative). And what ever happens next, will be as you chose. Each and everyone of us is bestowed with a tremendous amount of power. How we use it is up to us. Think about THAT.
