How to get rid of tonsil stones can be a real concern for many sufferers of this condition.

Tonsil stones are small cream-colored lumps, which form in the tonsils and eventually dislodge, where they are either coughed up or swallowed. If you squash them between your fingers they give off an awful smell a bit like rotten eggs. Bad breath is often linked with tonsillolith but does not necessarily mean this is always the case.

Many sufferers are too embarrassed to mention their predicament to a doctor or dentist and never dare discuss it with friends or loved ones. They carry on through life without ever having their problem diagnosed. It is only since the advent of the internet that many sufferers have been able to research for their selves and actually get answers to what a tonsil stone is, why they form and how to get rid of them.

I have personally suffered with tonsilloliths and halitosis for many years and know all to well the nuisance and embarrassment they can bring. I have tried many remedies over the years but these have only masked the bad breath problem for a few hours at best and never seem to help with curing the tonsil stones.

In the medical world there has not been a great deal of research done into tonsilloliths and even some doctors and dentists don't know what they are. Things are getting better though and the public are gradually becoming more aware and educated about this disorder. There is one doctor in particular who has done extensive research over the last 10 years or so, producing some really promising results. He has developed a range of products that claim to help cure tonsils stones and bad breath issues.

I have tried some of this doctors' latest products and can honestly say they did greatly reduce the size and amount of stones I was producing, which was a real plus for me after trying so many other so called remedies. Even though the treatment did not completely eliminate my tonsil stones, what astounded me even more was how well it worked in totally eradicating my bad breath and giving me that fresh breath feeling instead of a horrible dry metallic taste in my mouth.

All in all I am really happy with the products and continue to use them, as it is the best solution I have found that works for me. If you suffer from tonsil stones I can only suggest you give them a try to see if they work for you. If they do great, if not at least you have done something positive and given it a go.

If on the other hand you would like to try a home remedy to get rid of tonsil stones, consider using a moistened cotton swab to squeeze the area where you believe the stone to be. This can be quite fiddly and often causes you to gag, but with perseverance most manage to work them out. However this method is not a cure, does nothing for the bad breath and they will eventually reappear.
