War and Peace-The Ammunition of our Thoughts

Often we get upset over the reports of war, brutality and cruelty, yet all of these tensions build up as warlike energies in our own aggressive thoughts and desires. Why then, are we surprised when this energy potential is set free? Why, when each one of us shares the responsibility for this brutality in our own thoughts? What do we do when these situations occur?

We accuse others of hatred, aggression or even murder, and berate them for their evil deeds. What we should be doing is asking ourselves where have I, for example, aided and abetted this released tension through my aggressive thoughts? What is my part? Since all thoughts take place in the conscious mind and in the subconscious, when both spheres of consciousness are full, the push for discharge begins.

Aren’t we sometimes like a loaded weapon? Take a moment and think about it. What takes place when we simply allow our thoughts to run their course? Don’t they, on an energy-exchange level, contain exactly those aspects of aggression of which you could say that a mini-war just took place?

A bit far-fetched you think? But Jesus, the Christ, told us the following:You have heard that it was said of them of old, You shall not kill.... But I say to you, That whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of judgment. Why should one be in danger of judgment just for being angry with his neighbour?

Because, through a wrong way of thinking or speaking, hateful, brutal behaviour can be released.

As the Prince of Peace, Jesus taught us:Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you; leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on the way, … And so, when you have something against someone or someone has something against you, clear it up, resolve no longer to do it, then, you can go to God, your Father. And if at all possible, do this while the person is still on the earth with you, because otherwise, it may be too late for the present incarnation.
