Review of Ultimate Conversational Hypnosis: Downloadable Course

If you're thinking about downloading the Ultimate Conversational Hypnosis course from Steve G. Jones, ME.d., there are a few things to know.  First of all, any conversational hypnosis course requires a good bit of time for practice and study, so be prepared to invest both.  After that, it all comes down to the question of which style you prefer best; some courses are more audio focused, while others have more reading material.

This course specifically includes 18 modules (or lessons) which encompass recorded transcripts from Dr. Jones.  The first few get into the background of conversational hypnosis itself, including some history of Milton Erickson who pioneered the technique.  After the intro material, the next chapters go into NLP, eye contact and hypnosis, pattern interrupt and suggestability.   There are also review and practice sections at the end of each chapter.

The layout of the course is very much like a basic college course on hypnosis, only it teaches you specifics of how to practice conversational hypnosis.  Doing the course with a friend or relative is ideal, as you can practice the techniques with a partner this way.  It's also just as effective to do it on your own, provided you inform your subjects before attempting hypnosis on them; before you're a practiced hypnotist, you're more likely to make mistakes and alert people to your hypnosis attempts.

There are several conversational hypnosis courses floating around on the web; after all, who doesn't want to learn how to get better at talking to people and convincing them of what you're saying?  The bottom line of courses like these is that you'll learn a good deal about conversational tactics, hypnosis or otherwise.  The 'hypnosis' part is really only there because the idea is to get into a deep enough conversation that your subject feels as though they're in a trance, thereby making them more receptive to what you're saying.

If you have a couple hundred dollars to spare and want to learn how to talk to people more effectively, this course can benefit you.  If you follow the material and really take the time to digest it, you can learn a lot about how people think and how conversations influence everything we think about and do.  However, if you're more interested in learning about the practice of hypnosis itself outside conversation or daily life, it makes more sense to take a course on the history of it or just do research on your own.
