How to Make Better Use of Your Voice in Public Speaking

Everyone has to deal with public speaking at some point in his life. Whether it's speaking at a wedding or simply holding a presentation for your employer. You have to become used to it.

One way to get better in public speaking is to use your voice more effectively. So here I present you my 3 tips that will help you to deliver a more powerful speech.

Use Pauses

Many people underestimate the power of pauses. If you don't pause then your listeners will never have a chance to absorb your words. If you keep on speaking at a high pace then people will ultimately have a hard time following you.

So use pauses whenever you think they are necessary. Don't pause after each sentence but it might be important to pause after a long sentence so that your audience will have a chance to reflect on what you've just said.

Vary Your Tone

The worst thing you can do is to always speak in a monotone way. If you do that then you can be sure that you will lose your audience's attention pretty soon.

If you are telling an exiting story then be sure to speak in an exiting way. It's the same thing with in a conversation. You don't tell someone about an exiting event using an monotone or even sad voice. Match what you are saying with how you want to say it.

Speak Louder

Usually it's also a good idea to speak louder than you normally would. If you don't speak loud enough then you will lose their attention. So make sure that when you finally hold your speech that you know how loud you should speak.
