This is Muhammad School-10

The Arabs before Islam were confidently aggressive, inflexible, rigid, rough, tough, doctrinaire and dogmatic. Hey were very proud and arrogant.

The Arabs did not know a behavior like modesty.

It is narrated that the Prophet Muhammad passed by a man who was rebuking his brother regarding modesty.

The Prophet Muhammad said unto him, "Leave your brother alone, for modesty is a part of Faith.''

The background of this Hadith,

The man, who was being instructed and rebuked by his brother, was in fact an embodiment of modesty and simplicity. Such a man is never sharp in worldly affairs because modesty holds him back from following wrong ways.

That is why; modesty has been considered as a part of the faith.

In another Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad said, "All kinds of modesty are good.''

In a third Hadith, Muhammad said, "modesty does not bring anything except good.''

This teaching enlightens the people on the excellence of modesty, which serves the good purpose of preventing man from the disobedience of Allah and from immoral and evil pursuits. Evidently, modest, as a personal character, has a helpful collision on the entire society.

In addition, it keeps man free from sins, and, consequently, the modest man will stand blameless with Allah.  From this viewpoint, modesty is unquestionably a thorough good.

Abu Hurairah, one of Muhammad's companions who narrated many Hadith, reported that the Prophet Muhammad said,

"Faith has some seventy branches. The uppermost of all these branches is the Testimony of Faith; that is: `there is no true god except Allah' while the least of these branches is the removal of harmful object from the road. And modesty is a branch of Faith.''

Modesty is a part of Faith, because it plays an effective role in the training and sublimation of human psyche.
