How To Open Your Third Eye

You have one mouth, one nose, two ears, and two eyes, right? This is what we teach our children when they are very little and, for the most part, what we believe. Would you be surprised, then, if I told you that you were wrong?

You do not have two eyes, you have three. It sounds a bit crazy, I know, but believe me, it is not. The third eye is real and has been accessed by more people than you could ever realize. It is not easy to access, but it is certainly worthwhile. If you are interested in gaining access to your third eye, read on.

1) What Is the Third Eye?

If you have more than three eyes, where is the third one? Regardless of what I tell my children, I do not have eyes in the back of my head. The third eye is a way to achieve a higher consciousness.

Think of it this way: you have a huge brain. Only 10% of your brain is actually used at one time. This does not mean that only 10% is accessed completely, what it means is that only 10% of your brain is being used at any one point in time. While in one moment you may access the frontal lobe, the next you may access the cortex.

Imagine what would be possible if you were able to access more than 10% at one time? Opening the third eye is a way to do that. People who have opened their third eye have reported having out-of-body experiences, visions, and the ability for clairvoyance.

These types of people, the ones who are easily able to access the third eye, are known as seers and sometimes as physics. If the third eye is so wonderful, how do you gain access to it? Well it is not easy. It involves a lot of training and a lot of meditation. There are a few different ways to access the third eye.

2) Meditation and Techniques for Opening Your Third Eye

The first and most common way to open your third eye involves meditation. To begin, sit in a comfortable position and start trying to concentrate on where daydreams occur in your mind.

You know, the things that you dream of when you find that you cannot focus on your work? Accessing that place when you are actually trying to, however, can take a bit of practice.

Do not worry if you do not get it on the first try. Most people find that it takes two or three sittings or more before they are able to access this specific point. Once you find the place where your daydreams begin, you will start to find where the third eye is. Breathe in to the count of two, out at four, and hold two.

Eventually you will get a sensation and will start to feel a chakra become energized. Once you start to feel the energy building, take a few deep breaths and make sure you relax. At this point your third eye should be visible to you. Again, this may take a little time, but after a few practice sessions you should be able to do it.

The Chinese and the Tao believe that the way to access the third eye is to involve yourself in training. This training involves focusing your attention in the spot that is directly between your eyebrows. Your eyes are closed and you will be doing a number of qigong positions.

This method can be tricky, especially if you do not know much about the Tao and the qigong posture. Others believe that you can access the third eye using gemstones, like amethyst, but I have not had much experience with that method.

3) What Can You See?

So what can you see when you access the third eye? The first thing that you will see is things that pertain to you. You will be able to look at your life and see things that you may not be able to see without opening that eye.

Make sure, when you access it, that you hold onto whatever it is you see. You may see things that you do not want to see, and you may see things that make no sense at all. Pay particular attention to colors. If you see colors like blue, it means that you probably need to bring more relaxation into your life. If you see red, you need to be more passionate about the things in your life.

Once you get good at opening your third eye, you may see things that you do not expect. You might see things in the future, or you may find that you are suddenly floating above your body looking down. Once you learn to harness the power of the third eye, just about anything is possible.
