Here we can see that the black idol of God Balaji with 2 meters high, covered in gold jewellery and previous ornaments. All the activities of the temple are handled by TTD management. During the Brahmotsavam festival, there are many religious programmes organized by TTD in the main temple. In this time people came here to see the festival from all over India as well as Outside the India. In tirumala- tirupati, all the facilities for devotees are arranged by Tirumala tirupati devsthanam. Tirupati Balaji temple is located in chittoor district. Though Chittoor is the district capital and houses many of district level government institutions, Tirupati holds the major economical activities of the district. The main temple of God Balaji is situated at tirumala hills. Tirumala hills are just 22 km away from tirupati city. It is very easy to go to tirumala from tirupati. There is regular buses ply between Tirupati and Tirumala with as frequent as one bus in every 2-3 minutes from 3.00 am to 11.00 pm daily. The bus facility is provided by Tirumala Tirupati Devsthanam (T.T.D.) and Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). The bus journey from tirupati to tirumala hill is not a so long, it is near about 45 minutes. Bus fare is Rs. 12.00 per head for ordinary bus and Rs. 15.00 per head for express. The bus ticket facility is provided to the passengers that they can take bus ticket easily. Passengers can also save their time by taking their Tirumala- Tirupati return tickets at Tirupati itself. Pilgrims can use this ticket up to three days from the date of purchase and ticket-holders can board any of the APSRTC buses returning to Tirupati within these three days. During the any special occasion, like Brahmotsavam and new years day, buses ply 24 hours between Tirupati and tirumala with a as frequent as one bus in every 2-3 minutes. For the convenience of visitors, APSRTC provides contract bus service also. Visitors can be hired for Rs. 900. Seating capacity of bus is 45 passengers. Advance booking facility is also available here. For the safe journey to tirumala, it is advised to the pilgrims that they travel by APSRTC buses only. If pilgrims are using their own vehicle, do negotiate the hair-pin bends on theghatroads carefully. There are four bus stations at tirupati. These bus stations are situated in different corners of the town.
