A vessel can be said to be anything that is very useful and important to ones daily living as an individual. The word 'vessel' in this context shall be seen from the religion perspective. Many a times we feel that only those who are spiritually strong are fit for the use of God and can do spiritual exploits. Even our weakness can be made a strength with God and our deficiencies can be made perfect before Him.
God's requirements for the willing vessels are as follows:
(a) Faithfulness: Luke 19:17, I cor 4:2 (b) Availability: Eze 22:30 (c) Teachable: John 14:23, Math 10:24 (d) Obedience to God's word: Deut 28:1-14.
Hindrances on the way of God's Vessel:
1. Hindrances to being faithful (a) Sin (b) Impatient (c) Prayer lessness
2. Hindrances to being available (a) Secular jobs (b) Children (c) Wealth
3. Hindrances to being teachable (a) Pride (b) Unwillingness (c) Disobedience. Example of those who became mighty vessels for God despite their weakness.
(a) Moses-fear Ex 2-14, stammered Ex 4:10
(b) Gideon-doubt, low status Judges 6:11-13
(c) David-least in his house, adulterer
(d) Zacheaus-rich, short in stature
(e) Peter-Slept instead of praying.
Conclusion, God will listen to know excuse, because for Him, excuse is a tool of the fools and the unprofitable servants who are wasteful and misplaced His glory which he invested pon them. Therefore, throw away your fear and worries of working for Him today, remembering that your labour of love is never in vain because He will surely reward all your effort in the expansion of his kingdom.
