Five concentration killers

Concentration killers label is adequate to how some things can affect your ability to focus on the subject. Improving your concentration will let you learn much more in the same time so check the list below and compare it with your typical learning situation.

Radio and music
Listening to the radio while performing any focus requiring task can result in lowered performance. Everyone loves music, but let me remind you that typical audition is built to take your attention. There are songs and music that bring us different emotions. Having our attention on completion of the task is key to effective learning. Avoid listening to random tracks that could bring your attention somewhere else.

Your TV
Your TV is one of the most damaging objects that could be switched on when you learn. If your roommate watch TV all the day and there is no space invest in good quality headphones. TV is on top of the reasons for lowered focus abilities. I do not want to get into the parenthood talk, but consider that seriously. Lowering amount of hours spent in front of that box can only benefit your life. Switch TV show for lesson of any language you wanted to learn.

Mobile phone & internet messenger
Turn off your mobile and tell people who may call you that between some hours your phone is simply off. If you have not start learning anything new in some time, then this might give you time needed to begin. It will also benefit your concentration when you need it at most. Loosing your focus because of phone can be quite annoying so stay safe.

Bad lighting habits
People have preference for time of learning and in some cases night is utilized as a typical study session. It really does not matter when you learn, but always do so with proper lighting. If you are not afraid of noises keep the window open as fresh oxygen will make your brain work smoother. Take some walks because lack of sun exposure can influence your hormonal balance and you will feel more tired.

Temperature
Try to concentrate on something when in the room is so hot that you dream about bottle of cold drink. To low temperature makes it impossible to concentrate on anything else than tasks regarding getting warmer. Both examples are extreme situations, but adjusting temperature can improve your focus significantly.
