The secrets to success in life.

All we need in life is health, wealth and happiness. Our quality of life ultimately depends on the levels of these three things. The actual levels will not be the same for everyone as we all have different views on what constitutes, for example, wealth. In the end it all comes down to getting these levels right for you as an individual.

Good Health, no major illnesses (obviously) but also very few or even no small niggling health issues either. I have relatively good health but if I didn't have take those asthma meds every day then that would be better. I'm also short sighted. OK that's not a health issue as such but if I could ditch the glasses then so much the better. By the way laser eye surgery is not an option for me due to a medical condition I have called cowardice!

Wealth, this is a very individual concept. Having £10K in the bank may be a fortune to one person but a pittance to someone else. In reality, we need enough cash coming in to be able to at least live comfortably (again a very personal concept). Any additional income on top of that allows us to improve our life as we can then afford luxuries and it gives us more choices.

Happiness. What constitutes happiness? You could say that having good health and being wealthy would make you very happy. But it is often said that having money alone doesn't make you happy. I agree to some extent. Having more money would certainly make me happier as I would then be able to afford the house I would like to live in and drive the car I want (by the way that would be Bentley Continental GT if anyone is giving one away).But I could be healthy and have lots of money yet be as miserable as sin. I could be lonely, have no friends, no wife or girlfriend and not enjoying the benefits of my health and wealth. I think the key component to happiness is 'relationships'. We need to have human interaction to thrive. That means friends, family and partner.

How do we achieve health, wealth and happiness?Some people seem to have it all while others lack in all three aspects. Why is that? Is it luck, upbringing, hard work, genetics? I believe we all have it in us to change the way we are. It is often our own way of thinking that holds us back. Lonely miserable people tend to get ill more easily and tend not to do so well at work or may not be able to get work. Which makes them more miserable etc. etc. It's the old Vicious Cycle that brings you down. You may be doing well in life then you get made redundant, you feel a bit depressed, then you lose your self confidence, start to get ill, stop seeing friends, argue with your partner. Life turns out to be rubbish. You need to break this cycle and things will start to improve, one thing leads to another and you can start to reverse the cycle.

How can we succeed in life and achieve health, wealth and happiness?There are techniques that can teach you how to change your behaviour to ensure that you win rather than lose. Take control of your thoughts, become motivated, increase your self esteem and feel great all day. We need an understanding of the causes of success, the reasons for failure and how to make sure we take the correct route.To truly succeed in life we need to maximise these 7 important areas: mental well-being, physical health, personal workload, wealth direction, fun, standard of living & quality of relationships.

I cannot teach all those things in this short article, it would take a substantial book to do that. However, I hope I have made you think about your own situation, how you look at yourself and what you may need to do in order to improve your situation and succeed in life.
