The internet is a fast way for anyone to learn something, be it martial arts, personal slef help techniques or whatever you want to know.

This article is about learning how to speak Spanish.
Like English, Spanish is a truly global language, but its usage varies from country to country. This doesn't mean that a Spaniard wouldn't understand a Mexican, or vice versa, but it is true that communication may be more difficult; not so much because of grammar, but because of vocabulary.

The grammar is significantly different, regarding the use of tense and aspect, but somehow communication remains fluid.

Vocabulary is a different issue, however. You can surmise what a speaker means if you know the lexicon, no matter what tense that person uses. If you simply don't know what a word means, the guess is more difficult, and you may misunderstand or not make sense at all of what that speaker has said.
Apparently it is a  little uncommon to be studying Spanish in an internet café in a  Spanish speaking country; I guess I missed the memo.

When I decide to learn Spanish on line I did a search and was quickly inundated with thousands of sights most of which ended up being irrelevant. However after a frustrating afternoon of trying to figure out which sites were actually helpful I came across one that seems to know what it is talking about and provides a wealth of information for free.

Of course its ultimate goal is to sell you a product the free information is quite extensive and very well explained. There are numerous very good examples that are well explained and following the lessons there are free quizzes to test your knowledge.
To truly learn Spanish fast and well a nice combination of all the above mentioned methods would be nice.

To live in the country, listen to tapes and music, read books, use software, and speak nothing but the language would be ideal and probably very successful. Unfortunately no one really has the time this would entail so we must instead settle for a long, drawn out, frustrating process.
According to the research, most people experience a general improvement in memory from studying a language. Research has also demonstrated that you can halt age-related decline in mental function by learning a new language. Tuck that little tip away for later in life, or better yet, why not start learning a new language today?
