What Goes on Might Go in !

Don’t get shocked-get informed

60% of what we daily put on our skin/hair and body might go in. The general main stream brands contain an average of 80% petrochemicals/synthetics (Water not included) whereas some of them are considered carcinogenic and skin irritants. More and more consumers become aware of the potential risk we are taking and are changing to more natural/organic products.

Fast borrowed results are what the market leaders promise – long lasting side effects might be what we get at the end.

Better to be save than sorry is a good advice in today’s beauty jungle and the choice is: “back to nature when ever possible”.

To put it very simple – Garage Cleaner, Engine Degreaser, Dish wash liquid etc. are not supposed to be ingested since considered harmful to our health and surely you would not wash your or your babies hair with it right?

What does that have to do with my Shampoo?

One ingredient you will find in Tooth paste, Shampoo, Soap and all foaming products is called SLS – Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and is the same as used in above mentioned products.

Would you ingest them or give them to your kids ? If there is a written warning on the label, would you buy it anyway? We are very cautious about all the cleaning liquids – it is time to become more aware and careful with what we buy and put on our skin and the skins of our loved ones.

Do I suggest, that the majority of brands on the super market shelves are a potential health hazard? Yes I do and theFDA and petrochemical industry is trying to play the possible health risks down – ask yourself why..

Food for thought

Cigarettes are considered a potential and meanwhile accepted threat to the consumer’s health. In almost all Countries a visible reminder has to be on each packet of Cigarettes. What about the same reminders on “low dose” risk chemicals in daily used products”? As with Cigarettes – a “one time dose” might pose not an immediate risk – but how many times a day are we using daily care products ranging from soap to shampoo, tooth paste, day creams, make-up etc.? Are we still in the “low dose section” or does multiple applying multiply the dose as well? Rememberalready 1 cigaretteis considered a health risk – one time applying cream could bear the same effect.

Common sense tells, that it must have the same effect as for a chain smoker compared to a one time a week smoker. If you had evidence – would you still do it?

Going natural is also sometimes quite a challenge since no terms are regulated and “natural” can be as much as 2% of any kind of natural ingredient included in the formula. How to deal with that?

Up until now it is not possible without putting up some interest and effort in Labels and Ingredients. There are trusted and certified organic skin care and body care products on the market, take the extra time and maybe spend a little more for theluxury of relaxingby knowing that you don’t put more burden on your body.

From my own experience I can say “it feels really great” and I won’t go back to “brands for less” just to support the TV campaigns.

Make a choice and let it be an informed!
