Identifying the Dangers of Colon Cleansers

Are there dangers of colon cleansers? The unfortunate truth is that there are a couple of dangers which you might not even have suspected. If you are considering using colon cleansers, you should be aware of what some of these dangers are.

#1: Bowel Movement that Isn't Natural

Colon cleansers are supposed to help flush out toxins and waste. This is a good idea if your cleanser of choice assists natural bowel movement. There are some cleansers however that are manufactured under the guise of safe natural cleansers but are really much like synthetic laxatives. Using them too frequently and in large amounts could actually cause your bowel movement to move too fast. Aside from causing diarrhea, you could also be losing valuable nutrients, good bacteria and water. Frequent fast bowel movements could also lead to internal injury.

#2: Ingredient Side Effects

Nature's goodness is often misunderstood. We tend to think that anything natural is automatically safe and healthy. There are some cleanser ingredients however that could be harmful in large amounts. If you aren't careful with product use, you could end up with a damaged liver or colon. You could also experience bleeding and allergic reactions. You are in greater danger if you mix and take your own recipes for homemade colon cleansers. This is simply because you don't have reference safety standards for your mixture.

#3: Ingredients Left in the Colon

The colon is not a straight plastic tube where substances can slip through. Some of the more rough ingredients could get trapped in parts of your colon. This could be a polyp risk factor.

#4: Bad Quality of Ingredients

It's easy for a product company to claim that their product contains safe natural extracts. The truth of the matter though is that some ingredients become unsafe in the process of production. Some ingredients for example are not purely organically grown. You could end up with a product with ingredients that contain too much pesticide or synthetic chemicals. You can just imagine what a lot of pesticide can do to your body when ingested in a regular basis.

#5: Wrong Plant Extracts

There are many different kinds of herbal plants. Some of them may be used as whole plants while others may only have some useful parts. Some manufacturers simply neglect this fact. They may include whole plants when only parts of these plants can be used safely for colon cleansing.

#6: Reliance on Colon Cleansers

Some people may take cleansers because they are constipated. The danger however of doing this is that your system could become dependent on the cleanser. You may not be able to expel waste on your own anymore.

These are the basic dangers of colon cleansers. If you don't choose the right cleansers or use them properly, you might suffer the consequences.
