Start with your right foot by slowly tensing your muscles there. Squeeze as tightly as you can, and hold for a count of ten. Then, relax. Focus on the tension flowing away, and the way your foot feels as it becomes limp and loose. Proceed with your left foot, and work your way to the rest of your body. Number three: Guided imagery. Guided imagery is the use of pleasant or relaxing images to calm the mind and the body. By controlling breathing and visualizing a soothing image, a state of deep relaxation can occur.
