Breathing For Balance

We live in a world of multitasking, multitasking, multitasking. We're so busy, we stress ourselves out. Between work, family, school, and all of our other responsibilities, it's becoming increasingly difficult to stay healthy and maintain a sense of well-being.

Since the tasks aren’t going away, we need to raise our stress stamina. The breathing technique I'm about to explain to you helps you do just that while instantly relieving stress and anxiety. In less that five minutes, you'll feel peaceful no matter what is happening around you.

Without stress, your immune system works better, which means better health and less sick days. And your ability to think creatively improves, which means you can work smarter - not harder.

So here goes:

1. Sit down in a comfortable chair or a comfortable position on the floor. Just make sure you sit up straight with a straight spine. This technique works very well in a loud or quiet environment.

2. Place your hands on your stomach, one on top of the other. (your fingertips should be pointing to the opposite the sides of your body, right fingertips to the left and left fingertips to the right.)

3. Close your eyes...well finish reading this, then try it.

4. Take a slow, deep breath through your nose to the count of 4, allowing the air to expand your abdomen.

5. Hold your breath to the count of four.

6. Exhale slowly through your mouth to the count of four, allowing the air to leave your abdomen.

7. Repeat steps 4-6 three times.

Now how do you feel? Balanced and ready to approach any stressful situation I bet.
