Best Ways to Relax After a Bad Day at Work Without Hitting the Bar Stool

The daily grind can really get to you if you don’t take the time to sit back and relax every once in a while. Spending 40-plus hours of your day locked inside of a work cubicle can really take its toll, so you really need to make sure that you have plenty of time for some quality rest and relaxation when you get home. Follow my tips for the best ways to relax after a bad day at work below.

1. Meet some friends for a drink. Sometimes a stiff drink is the best way for you to handle your monotonous, banal existence. So cozy up on a bar stool and have a few good laughs with your closest friends.

2. Eat some junk food. Even if you could afford to lose a few pounds, there’s nothing like downing a giant bag of Cheetos after an absolutely atrocious day. Its okay to overindulge every once in a while, just make sure that you don’t do it every night or you’re asking for a heart attack.

3. Go to sleep. If your day was truly terrible, there is simply no better way to rest and relax than by sleeping the evening away.

4. Arrange a marathon of your favorite television show by heading to your local Blockbuster and renting all a season on DVD. Throw in some popcorn and a comfy blanket and it will make for the perfect evening.

5. Work out. This might not sound too relaxing, but the aftereffects of a tough workout will do wonders for your body. You’ll feel an endorphin high combined with body exhaustion. You’ll love it.
