  2. You will now need to create the center of the rubber band ball. Take 5-10 rubber bands and wad them together in order to form a ball by squeezing them together. Next, wrap the rubber bands with a smaller one so that they become joined together.
  3. After doing so, start shaping the rubber band ball. You will first need to use the smaller-sized rubber bands because at first the rubber band ball size is small. After that, wrap the rubber band wad in different directions right until your wad of rubber bands gets a spherical shape.
  4. As your ball begins to grow in size, start using larger rubber bands. The rubber band ball's size is directly proportioned with your choice of rubber bands. You need to make sure that the rubber bands are not too large because if they are, they will fall off your rubber band ball.
  5. Continue the process of shaping your rubber hand ball and as it grows, continue to shape it in order to obtain the desired size. The new rubber bands should be placed in various directions, that is why it is necessary to add rubber bands in areas where the shape of the ball is not rounded.
  6. We recommend that you use different colored bands in order to give the rubber band ball a unique yet colorful look.
  7. Last but not least, some use a wadded up piece of paper to get a head start while creating the ball.

In the following we will present a few tips regarding how to make a rubber band ball:

a)      When a band snaps, replace it with another one.

b)      Keep the rubber band in the refrigerator as it will make it last longer.

c)       Do not use thin rubber bands at the base of the ball. It is faster and easier to use thicker ones.

d)      Do not worry if the ball is lopsided at first as it will even itself out later on.

e)      The tighter the ball is, the higher it will bounce.

f)       If you have difficulties starting the ball, we recommend using a quarter or a dime.

The bigger the rubber band is, the easier it is to get too many lumps on it. In order to prevent this situation, stretch your big rubber bands more to tighten the lumps down as this will help maintain a more spherical shape.
