Save Dollars by Having an Off Season Wedding

Of the myriad ways to save money on a wedding, perhaps the greatest money-saver is planning your wedding when there the wedding business has it's down-time.  The largest number of weddings in The United States occur between May and October.  So it's fairly obvious that lots of industry businesses could do with more business between December and April, and that is a good position for a better rate for you.

First, you should think about where you would like your special moment to be commemorated.  If you were wishing for an outdoor event, then you need to take the potential for bad weather into account.  In the northern states, a rose-garden wedding in an off season is unrealistic.  Still, in more hospitable states, or if the guests are ok with moving the celebration indoors, then it should be no issue.

During the off period, venues are more eager to allow for cut-backs on their rooms, or at a minimum leave wiggle room in the price.  You take time to inquire at different wedding spots, as well.  Spend some effort researching the different locations in town.  You can scout a variety of locales by attending events during the high season in your town. Look for a setting you and your sweetheart can enjoy, and ask if there's a slow season when they might offer a reduced price.

Getting married off-season also means that your guests can stay in less costly hotel rooms without sacrificing any amenities.  Almost all hotels have down periods when the highest percentage of their rooms are not rented out.  If you are part of a bigger group during this time, the hotel will roll out the red carpet for you.  If you plan to have your wedding at the same hotel, then you are in prime position to negotiate many "extras" you'll want for your big day into the deal for little to no money.

Flowers usually comprise around 10% of the financial outlay.  By planning for a winter nuptial and ordering flowers offered during that season, you can save money and enjoy a beautiful and unusual occasion.  Flowers in bloom in chillier climates are amaryllis, forget-me-nots, [orchids, and poinsettias], to name several.  You can always enhance a room with small branches of conifers to add a seasonal and aromatic aura to the space.  You may want to discuss with your florist about what plants are available and not terribly pricey near your home before you consider your decorating goal.

If you are saving up for a destination wedding, speak to a travel agent about the potential of a slow season nuptial.  Unlike the northern parts of America, most tropical favorites, such as Hawaii and the Bahamas, are in-season during the colder season. That is why having your wedding when it's summer is the most obvious way to get the biggest discounts.  Every place is different, so you have to compare the weather, local festivals and holidays, and flight cost.

No matter where you are going to have your wedding, do some early fact-checking.  Explore the different price options for your venue, entertainment, and menu.  Talk to different travel agencies and wedding planners before you put your name on a business arrangement with anyone.  Check online for dresses and hotels before you take the time in person.  If you prepare for a meeting armed with information and detailed data, you ought to be able to haggle for the best possible rates for your dream wedding.
