Wedding Participants

Traditional wedding ceremonies are incomplete without various important people who form the group of wedding participants and are commonly referred to as wedding party or bridal party. Most of the People are fond of such traditional weddings with various wedding participants conducting all interesting rituals. These participants include marriage celebrants, maid of honor, bridesmaids, best man, groomsmen, flower girls, page boys and ring bearers. The foremost participants or the main centre of attraction of a marriage are of course none other than the bride and the bridegroom.

The most important role among all the marriage participants is played by the best man and bridesmaids. The main task of the bridesmaids is to attend the bride for all her needs including the preparation of the bridal wreath and the dressing up of the bride. The bridesmaids can either be one of her friends or her sisters. The same work has to be done by the groomsmen for the groom. The senior most groomsman is known as the best man, who attends the groom personally. The idea of the bridesmaid originated to outsmart all the evil spirits or influences which work to ruin the weddings.

The ring bearers take care of the rings of both the bride and the groom and take care to hand over the rings to them just before the ceremony begins. The flower girl participates in the wedding procession. The most important of all is the marriage celebrant who plans the whole wedding i.e. the theme, decorations, venue etc. He is the one who takes care of all the legal issues and the arrangement of the marriage license. Most of the couples in various counties such as Australia, Canada and the United States hire capable marriage celebrants to relieve themselves from the marriage planning tensions.

If you adopt a civil marriage system, then the people in concern would include the marriage celebrant and a few guests only. The choice of including the other marriage participants totally depends upon your wish in this case.
