Healthy Selfishness - How it affects self esteem

Healthy Selfishness - How do healthy selfishness and self esteem fit together?  Healthy selfishness is a way of thinking and acting in which you have a deep appreciation and concern for yourself.  You respect your needs and feelings, even if others do not.   You believe in yourself even when the cards seem stacked against you.

Healthy selfishness helps you think much higher of yourself and helps you get the life you deserve without the guilt. It is a key that opens a door to a life of freedom from being ruled by opinions and demands of others.

Healthy selfishness brings a joy for living, a joy that comes from truly experiencing from deep inside your accomplishments and pride in your abilities.  When you show pride in yourself, others take notice around you and you will be treated as such no matter how important they are in your life.

In today's socieity, whereas as everything is so busy and everything seems to be more stressful, it is harder to stay in a positive, uplifting mood.

I read a quote the other day  "essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love and something to hope for"

Can you really teach yourself to be happy, to think higher of yourself and achieve so much more??  Yes.   Only you can truly make yourself happy though.  Your happiness can't depend on another person, it has to come from within.  Remember, life is like a box of chocolates.  A good way to start is to grab a pen and a piece of paper.  Write the question, What does happiness mean to me?  and write the answer from your heart.

Than try the one week happiness plan

Wake up everyday for the next 7 days and practice the following tips:  Incorporate them into your living

*Start the day right- eat breakfast, take a few minutes to relax and just think of the positive things in your life

*Be Positive, NO Negatives

*Express yourself

*Think of ways to improve the various relationships in your life

*Fit some sort of physical activity into your laugh

*Take 10 minutes just to read some jokes (googe search, get a joke book- just find a way to laugh  (Laughter is key to good health, good self-esteem)

at the end of the day, Review your day and Thank God you are still in the vertical position  :-)

Take time for yourself.  Make time for your family.

Healthy Selfishness  Learn to love your life that only you can live.  It is unfair to yourself to be unhappy.

A few things to remember:

The best way to change your brain is to change your thoughts

Negative attitudes are set in infancy and can only be changed by deliberate effort

You have to work at being frequently happy.  Laugh, Love, Learn
