The Central Montana to promote policies for women in all municipal areas through its first Equal

This is a document intended to serve as a basis for introducing gender perspective in all policies to be carried out in Mieres consistories, Lena, Aller, Morcin, Rivers and Ribera de Arriba.

This plan will be valid until the year 2012 and are reflected, for example, actions to be developed in areas such as employment and training, health, education and balancing, product flow , work and personal life. This is a report which, for example, include the need to promote access of women to the labor market and equal opportunities and included specific initiatives for specific groups such as women victims of gender violence or risk of social exclusion.

It is therefore a tool that was developed during the next two years and created with the aim to propose a transversal policy on women in local councils, which have counted for its elaboration to the addressees of the measures, partnerships and women's groups. The de Mieres, however, already has its own equality scheme although the first mayor announced that work together well with the rest of the consistory in the region.

Both Ramos and Garcia stressed the importance of this step taken today by the Central Montana for equality and influenced the need for government to be involved to the maximum in the fight for this purpose. Councilor President further reminded that the Principality provides this year adopted a law on equal with the aim of further develop the initiatives being developed in this respect in the community and also from the central government.
