The Gift That Keeps on Giving

At some point in our lives, we will each be affected by cancer. Whether indirectly or directly, cancer is touching the lives of all of us every single day. While there still isn't one cure-all for every type of cancer that is out there, there is certainly progress being made towards that end.

In fact, there are more cures for various types of cancer now than there ever was in the history of the world. Medical researchers are hard at work trying to figure out what the root cause of cancer development is in humans. For some of us, cancer may be linked to stressful lifestyles, while others speculate that cancer is something hereditary and unavoidable. Still, others suggest a link between cancer and lifestyles that are lacking in the areas of diet and exercise.

There is no conclusive evidence that any of the above is true. However, while researchers continue to work hard towards finding a cure, it has become obvious that funding cancer research is no walk in the park. In fact, there are more people being diagnosed with some form of cancer every day within the United States alone. Therefore, medical professionals and research scientists are scrambling to figure out the various causes as well as treatment for cancer.

The closer we get to finding answers related to cancer development within the human body, the closer we get to one day being able to find a cure for all forms of cancer. In the meantime, each of us can contribute towards the cause for a cure for cancer by spending no more than a couple of extra dollars on a gadget, item or some other cause that is linked back to cancer research. Perhaps you involve yourself and your significant other in some sort of gift-giving exchange program. Or maybe you purchase a shirt, bracelet or jump into a local 5k road race.

Realizing that every small thing you do contributes towards such a magnanimous cause is a good feeling. Even better is knowing that you played a small part in the bigger scheme of cancer research overall. Besides, there is strength in numbers; and if we all band together, there is no telling what the future of cancer and cures for cancer will look like.
