Setting the Pace: Positive Mental Attitude

Positive Mental Attitude

-Gratitude

Gratitude is the secret to achieving success.  We have to appreciate the things we have in our lives.  If you are working but hate your job, you should take time to be thankful for having the strength to get up and go to work.  Be thankful for being able to see, hear, taste, touch, and smell.  If you are not working or temporarily unemployed, be thankful and show gratitude for being able to read and write so that you can educate yourself and create an opportunity to find employment.  If you've experienced something wonderful, give thanks and share that.  If you are proud of someone, share that.  If someone has done a good job, tell them so.  If you love someone, tell them so.  Showing gratitude is a powerful starting point for people looking to improve themselves.  When you give and share gratitude, people will return it to you.  This will definitely set the tone in a maujor positive way.  There is also a beautiful wonderful world to be grateful for.  Take time to look at beautiful things in your surrounding atmosphere.  The sun, the stars, the trees, the skyline of your cities, the bridges, the trains, the planes are all things to marvel and show appreciation for.  Give thanks and praises to your source of higher power, for this is where you get the strength and ability to think as a conscious being.  Always remember to show gratitude.

-Attitude is a mindset

Attitude is only a point of view.  You have absolute control of your thoughts.  Whether you are working in the office, outdoors doing field sales, physical labor, or a high powered executive, you control and decide whether the outcome of the day is going to be productive or counter-productive.  Carrying out your plan will be easier and simpler with a positive mindset because new positive experiences will unfold.  You must generate good feelings before carrying out your plan.  Think of goals you achieved the day before or find something you've accomplished to assist you in attaining the mindset necessary to achieve your purpose.  Condition yourself to generate positive thoughts.  This will inspire you to take action with ease.

-Enthusiasm moves product and people

Whether you are pitching a five dollar product or conducting direct hire negotiations for a consulting firm, you will not achieve success unless you exercise enthusiasm about what you are doing.  Enthusiasm breathes fresh air into your mission and adds electricity and unbounded energy.  This energy is highly attractive and extremely contagious.  Show enthusiasm about what you have to offer.  If you are providing a service face to face, dress to impress.  A well groomed individual generates a signal of confidence which attracts other highly spirited and confident people.  You create enthusiasm by being courteous, sharing a laugh or smile, high shoulders, confidence, strong handshakes, eye contact, and a strong sense of self.

-Generates more positive attitudes

When working with people--especially in sales, everyone has an opinion.  door to door sales can be touch because one potential customer can drop negatives on you which may feel like a tone of bricks.  We have to look for and embrace any and all positive feedback, for it serves as fuel.  Making a connection with one position contact will make an entire world of difference in a daily outcome.  Keep in mind that like will attract like and you have to go to what makes you feel good to get better results.

-Attracts positive energy

When things go well, a snowball effect takes place and you feel like you're on a major winning streak.  When this happens, you have to stay in that feeling and don't let go.  More opportunities open up and you begin to feel like you can take on the world.

-Produces positive results

Because of your efforts, you've achieved results beyond your expectations. As a result, others will want to work with you; you begin to receive stronger financial offers and everyone wants to be a part of your team.  You have now become the main attraction.

-Adds value

Once you've made a habit of duplicating those efforts and achieving the results, you will have created residual value and the consistent ability to add value to any project.
