How To Achieve Your Wildest Dreams

According to Brian Tracy successful people think about what they want, and how to achieve it most of the time. Unsuccessful, unhappy people think and talk about what they don’t want most of the time. They talk about their problems and worries, and who is to blame. They see themselves as victims and feel that life hasn't treated them fairly. A victim mentality is the one where you blame everyone else for what happens in your life. When you blame external or uncontrollable factors, you put yourself in a mindset that there is nothing you can do to improve your life. T. Harv Eker argues that rich people believe that they create their life, while poor people believe that life happens to them. According to Eker rich people focus on opportunities, while poor people focus on obstacles. Eker stresses that if you focus on obstacles instead of opportunities, you get more obstacles and less opportunities.

The key to your goals is the ability to shift awareness and hold focus more on where you want to be and less on where you are, and you will get there faster. Bruce Lipton states that we often see other people achieving their goals and we wonder why we can't do it. In spite of teachings of many gurus we follow, we still end up at the same lives we have. He argues that the reason may be that though we have gone through the changes in our conscious mind, we nevertheless live under the control of our subconscious mind. Just because we put something in our conscious mind it doesn't change our subconscious behavior. Tracy states that the more you think what you want and how to achieve it, the more rapidly you start to move toward your goals and your goals start to move toward you. Tracy advises in his famous book ?pid=211&cmpid=2161&AID=10273910" “Goals” to take a piece of paper at first and to write down ten goals you want to accomplish within next twelve months. Ask yourself a question like this: "If you could only accomplish one goal from the list, which one would have the most positive impact on your life?" Then put a circle around this goal, turn the page over, set a deadline for this goal, and write everything down what you need to achieve the goal, and do something from this list every day.

When I myself used this technique for the first time, I looked at my goal that seemed to be totally unrealistic and unachievable. I even wrote this negative statement down next to my goal. However, I decided to reformulate this by asking “How would it be possible to achieve this goal in a year?” I looked through all my assets, made a monthly plan, which was not extremely encouraging either. I continued my work by splitting this plan into small tasks which I should fulfill on weekly and daily base, and in this way,the plan became suddenly totally realistic and achievable. All it was required was to take small steps day by day, hour by hour. And this was psychologically extremely relevant, because I didn’t have to overcome a mountain any more, just some small pebbles instead.

Thus, we may start by taking small steps toward the goal and if we start moving, things get easier and more opportunities appear before us. At the beginning we may feel that the challenge is too big, the road is too rocky, and obstacles are impossible to overcome, but if we select one definite goal, make a detailed plan and work on it every day, it becomes easy and achievable. Tracy says that people become great if they determine their major purpose in life and work on it every day.  All it requires is that you must be solution-oriented, instead of being problem-oriented. The more you focus on solutions, the more easily you overcome problems. According to Brian Tracy this is one of the secrets of great success in life.
