How Can I Apply Daily Affirmations to My Life? Do They Even Work?

I am always happy to be asked this question by friends, colleagues, and people I meet, as I know that I am able to contribute positively to their lives, when I answer them. The short answer is a most definite yes. Daily affirmations do work, and yes, it is true that they can work more effectively when used correctly.

The idea behind an affirmation is to program your subconscious mind to see, and expect all the good things that you would like to experience in your life. This may be from various stand points, including material, and spiritual. I do not expect to explain the entire subject in one article, but rather concentrate on the point that affirmations do work, and with repetition, they embed themselves more deeply into your subconscious. Another way to explain this is that you need to be definite in you thinking, as this will significantly magnify the results you receive.

Have you ever met someone who did not know what they want from life? As a result, their lives are aimless, and undirected, almost like the wind. They are always changing direction, and not focused. However, by affirming regularly, you are programming your mind to seek out results, and attract to yourself, the results you want. I am not able to explain how this works in every case, other than to say that it does work, and has been proven by enough people to show it works. In addition, I apply it in my daily life, and have not been disappointed yet. In many cases, I am actually able to manifest better than I imagined, as with practice, your ability to affirm will get better. Some things will take longer than others, but with practice, you will win the day. That is sure.

Another way to explain this concept is to look at yourself in the morning, and affirm yourself to have a great day. Have you ever started your day, in a bad mood, and found that you are held up in traffic jams, you find it hard to find a parking space, and so on? Equally, by making a conscious effort not to allow yourself to be affected by life's little issues, as I call them, and concentrate on being good natured, and expect the best, you will in many cases, attract to yourself, the results of a pleasant day. This is not merely nice writing, but actual proven fact. Some people refer to this as the law of attraction. Again, I am not suggesting this is an instant fix to problems, but by starting on the right note, or even changing chords through the day, to switch from a bad mood to a better one, you will notice a gradual improvement, day after day.

As a closing thought, I'd like to point out that you need not allow anyone to cause you to have a bad day. By this, I mean that if someone has a go at you, or says something unpleasant to you, you can take it as a point, and move on. Only you can give permission to yourself to let a snide remark pull you down. Equally, by practicing, and affirming the very best, you will more aptly move yourself to a place you want to be, and can shine from, time after time. This process is part and parcel of the affirmation system I regularly speak about, and know works. Like most things, give it practice, and you will be rewarded.
