When the Law of Attraction Won't Work

Many people who saw the movie, "The Secret" have now given up on trying to use the Law of Attraction, saying that it just doesn't work. What they really mean is that they cannot get it to work to bring them what they want.

"The Secret" was an admirable attempt to reach a massive audience to let them know that the Law of Attractiondoesexist and, when used consciously, can transform our lives and experiences into what we want them to be.

The first thing I would like to clear up here is that the Law of Attraction is always working, so when it seems it isn't working, what we mean is that it isn't bringing us the changes in our lives that we are trying to make.

While the 11 forgotten laws that support the Law of Attraction are all important, I believe that the main one to concentrate on is the Law of Thinking.

Change your thoughts, and you will change your life.

I realize that this sounds easier than it actually is. From the time we are young, before we are capable of critical or analytical thought, we are taught to believe certain things without question.

Depending upon your upbringing and the type of friends and family you had, you might have been taught the following:

"Good things always happen to other people."

"It's not what you do or how hard you work, it's who you know."

"The guy with the money always gets the best girl," or "the girl with the looks always gets the best guy."

Now, if any of these resonate with you, this is not the time to throw up your hands in despair and say, "I give up. I accepted these beliefs in my infancy and there's nothing I can do about it now."

As a matter of fact, there is. And it's something quite simple.

The problem is not the beliefs you accepted in your past, - the problem is that you still believe them. You are still allowing these beliefs to mold and control your thoughts.

It's time to break free.

You, through the thoughts youchooseto think, have the power to totally transform your life. You arenotat the mercy of the past or of past beliefs.

Decide what it is you want. Make up a ten or twelve word sentence that states that you already have and are enjoying it.

For five minutes every morning, every midday, and every evening just before going to bed, close your eyes, relax, and repeat that statement to yourself, while at the same time enjoying the feeling that this is real...that the statement, written in the present, is already a fact in your life.

If you do this faithfully for about a month, the old limitations will be dissolved and the new experience(s) will be magnetized, by your new thoughts, into your life.
