How to write affirmations and use them correctly

How to write affirmations correctly:

Learning how to write affirmations is very important. It can make the difference between success and failure. Many people think affirmations are something you just repeat every so often and magically get results. That is called wishful thinking, and it doesn't work. Using positive sentences to change your life is a process that needs practice and refinement.

Here are some ground rules on how to write affirmations correctly:

Use present tense

When creating an affirmation, always write it in present tense. You are going to imprint this sentence in your subconscious mind. If you use something like "I will have", it will always remain in the future. It's like the great saying "tomorrow never comes".

So make sure every one of your affirmations is written in present tense.

Have, know and want:

When you study how to write affirmations, you learn that using the word "want" is simply a mistake, wanting something indicates not having it. You are working to convince your subconscious mind that you already have it. Rather it is better to use "I have", "I know", "I am". These are much more oriented towards the present moment.

Emotional Connection

The most important thing to remember when you want to understand how to write affirmations is to find an emotional connection. Writing something like "I have two million dollars in the bank", can be great. But if it doesn't spark some sort of positive emotional response from you, it will probably be counterproductive.

If you have trouble finding one that feels good, start by choosing something more believable. After you gain confidence tackle the harder subjects.

The emotional connection to the affirmation is what will define the distance between where you are, and where you want to be. Once you feel you have something, it must become a part of your reality.

What do you want?

Before you even start writing the affirmations, I would advise sitting for a couple of days and writing what you really want to have and experience in your life. Many people have given up on their dreams and don't focus on them very much. As they deem them unreachable, they are programmed to fail any time they start moving towards them. To get what you want out of life, you have to focus on it, but you can't focus on something that you don't even know.

Take your time, but don't try to make it perfect. You'll be refining this list allot as you go along.

Practice makes perfect:

Practice every day for a minimum of 30 minutes. In my opinion this is more important than actually understanding how to write affirmations.

Practice will teach you the areas in which you need to better yourself, or give more focus. That is the only way you will truly learn how to use affirmations.

Experiment

If you want to learn how to write affirmations, you have to try them out. You can live in theory land all you want, but until you get your hands in the dirt not much is going to happen. Experiment with different types of sentences, that way you can find those special ones that resonate with who you are.

Be easy on yourself

This is something I tell any person I coach. Nothing good ever comes from stress, especially when it comes to affirmations. Learn to relax and enjoy the process, this will give you a huge boost and won't feel like hard work.

Learning how to write affirmations isn't very difficult, but using them correctly can be. I would advise anyone new to this field to find a professional system they can work with. Guidance will help you immensely in understanding how to write and utilize affirmations for maximum benefit.
