Should You Purchase New Or Used Stair Glides

Stair glides are one of the most ingenious forms of handicapped lifts that I have ever seen. The very first time I discovered one of them was in a two story house that was quite rustic. I noticed this track that had a chair built on the bottom of it and thought it was some type of gimmick that worked like an elevator.

I did not know what to think of it until someone explained to me that it was used by someone who does not have the force to walk up and down the long staircase each day. This was easier on their knees and prevented them from accidentallyaccidentally falling down and breaking a bone.

Since then I have looked round to find what kind of stair glide would be best for my father to utilize. He hurts from terrible arthritis that leaves him virtually incapable to walk. Of Course trying to walk up and down the steps does not assist this - but he does not want to pick up his life either.

Purchasing a new stair glide is obviously one of the better things to do because we understand that they are going to work for awhile and that they are in prime condition. But at times we just cannot afford the cost of a brand new model. Used stair glides are decidedly something that we must consider when this takes place.

The only type that you have the ability to buy used are straight stair glides. Curved glides have to be custom made to staircases that turn and bend and can be longer then the average kind. But straight glides can be used in any home with a straight staircase. When purchasing a used stair glide make sure that you buy from a dependable company that has refurbished it and worked out any troubles it might have.
