Avoiding the start of heart disease is something we all should be striving for since this condition kills more American than any other disease. Once heart disease has started, and the conditioned has progressed for a while symptoms may start to be seen. If you have noticed one or more of the 5 signs of heart disease in women realize that you are well on your way to having a heart attack or stroke. The reason being is that hardening and narrowing of the arteries (atherosclerosis) rarely produces any symptom until a significant amount of arterial blockage has occurred in one or more arteries. You may have tried patches, ear staples, diets, drugs, and counseling, group counseling and the trying doesn't work. That's actually part of the problem. Trying isn't doing. Quitting can't mean anything other than becoming a non-smoker. There's an old saying that no one tries to quit, you're either a smoker or you're not a smoker. You just have to make up your mind, which is it?

The number American at risk for heart disease could easily be in the tens of millions. With over 1.1 million heart attacks occurring every year it is easy to see why America is a considered a hot bed of heart attack activity. But what is it about our genetics or lifestyle that could possible lead to so many heart attacks. This sometimes takes place when the heart muscle is feeble due to illness or stress. There are numerous first coronary artery sicknesses but congestive heart failure, sometimes a secondary illness, has the least wealthy diagnosis. As to whether heart disease can be reversed has been a much debated topic in recent years.

Most surgeons take the position that only through a surgical procedure can heart disease be reversed while the natural health community takes the position that only through lifestyle changes can real long lasting results be seen. Medication: Lifestyle changes will have an effect on cholesterol levels but those occur over time. For a quicker and effective way to lower cholesterol, consider medications such as Niacin, Bile acid resins and fibrates. Statins are the medication of choice and can lower cholesterol by 20-50%.
