The weight loss challenge is everywhere, a lot of people would give a lot to lose some weight and be trim and healthy. But many live sedentary lives with little or no physical activity.

Good health is as necessary as the air we breathe. Without good health we cannot enjoy this one life that we have.

Below are 20 time tested tips to lose some weight fast and live a healthy life.

  1. Start your day by drinking a glass of cold water. This lets out all the digestive juices in our body and lubricates our body inside aiding proper digestion of food.
  2. During the day try and drink lots of water. Ever heard of water therapy? Water helps the body a lot.
  3. Stay away from sweetened drinks, sugar spells trouble, apart from causing weight gain; it aids the development of a lot of diseases. Please limit your sugar intake, if possible, cut it out.
  4. Include vegetables and fruits that contain a lot of water in your diet like tomatoes and water melon. You can actually feast on these without any worries of any negative effect.
  5. Increase your fibre intake. Fruits and vegetables contain fibres, so eat lots of them.
  6. Vegetables are very good for loosing pounds, eat loads and loads.
  7. Watch what goes into your mouth, be mindful of what you eat.
  8. Have a fixed time for meals and stick to it. When you delay eating and get very hungry, there is a likelihood of overeating when next food is placed in front of you.
  9. You may try and adopt the habit of eating just only when you are hungry. A lot of people when faced with food end up eating the food whether they are hungry or not. Train yourself to eat only when you are hungry. Less food no weight gains.
  10. Do not snack between meals, if you must, then eat a piece of fruit.
  11. Count calories as you eat. Do some research about how many calories each food item has and how much calorie you need? Then watch what you put into your mouth.
  12. If you feel you have consumed extra calories on a particular day, ensure you work off those calories.
  13. As much possible stay away from fried foods. The more you avoid fried food, the less you gain weight.
  14. Do not eat more than one egg a day.
  15. Try and adopt a vegetarian diet especially if you are trying to lose weight. Let vegetables be a major part of your diet.
  16. Detoxify your body; the body accumulates a lot of toxins every day from what we eat and the environment (car fumes, pesticides, garbage and so on). Try and detoxify your body to remove those poisonous substances that impair the normal working of the organs in our bodies.
  17. Reduce your fat intake
  18. Take brisk walks 45 minutes every day.
  19. Engage in high intensity exercise every day or three times a week, this works like magic.

Stop eating late at night, try and avoid any food once it is past 7p.m
