When trying to improve time management and productivity you must be aware that it does not have to be difficult or anywhere near complex and in fact, can be accomplished quite easily in a relative short period of time.

I understand the negative emotions that you are experiencing right now from being in this rut and I'm here to tell you that you can easily make them go away, but it will take some effort.

Many of these techniques exist on the internet, but with the growth of the internet and the flood of new users, the web has overflowed with wrong information.

Below are 5 of the simplest, yet most effective ways to improve time management and productivity:

1.) Select Your TWO Most Valueable Tasks to Put Down On Paper

The reason why is because writing down your 2 highest value tasks will automatically eliminate all the other lesser value tasks and force you to focus on completing just those two tasks. Your two highest value tasks are most often what bring in the most money for you or make you the happiest or simply the tasks that greatly improve your current situation.

So by you writing or typing down your 2 most important tasks you're mind will understand its level of value, which will then pull you into action.

2.) Focus on One Thing at a time

You want to focus on one thing at a time because the human mind is most powerful when focused on one main objective.

I wholeheartedly believe this statement and the main reason is because I've experienced it and actually felt the difference and my time management dramatically improve. Also, I'm sure you can easily relate to this too, because if you look at times when you were constantly off focus and changing from one task to the next with your mind racing a million miles per hour, you experienced a horrible feeling of being overwhelmed, realizing you were not being productive at all.

In the beginning, you probably thought that by multitasking you were able to get a lot of important things done and become more productive, but your results told a completely different story.

This idea is one that His Holiness the Dalai Lama passionately which can be understood through his statement, "A scattered mind does not have much power. When channelized, no matter what the object of observation is, the mind is very powerful."

3.) Hurry up, but DON'T rush

Many people have the belief that if they get as many things done as possible in a short amount of time it will mean that they are effectively being productive. But in fact, the opposite is true. You may think that you're getting a lot of things done and being extremely productive but in actuality by rushing through your tasks and projects you are using a particular strategy that has been notorious for backfiring and leaving you having to fix everything thing you missed or forgot to complete.

4.) Give Yourself A Reward

Whenever you finish a tough project treat yourself.

Treat yourself to some ice cream, a glass of wine, or anything that meets your craving.

Constantly doing this and making it into a habit will motivate you and make you WANT to get more things done, which will dramatically improve time management.

5.) Avoid the Temptation to Overwork

You may feel that putting in over time with the boss or being dedicated and committed to your business will make you become productive but the fact still is true that when you work for too long or too hard, all you really doing is killing yourself making you very "unproductive."

But actually getting out of the office by 5 or taking a break or day off will prove to give you much better results in the long term.

You need to rejuvenate your mind and body to stay at the top of your game and there's nothing like coming back into a challenging and frustrating situation or problem with a fresh pair of rested eyes and recharged mind.

So, there you have it, five awesome methods to help you get started on your quest to improve time management and productivity. Go out and put it to use as soon as you can. Trust me, you're not going to regret it. If extra time to do the things you want sounds cool to you then it's a complete no brainer for you to get up and get started.
