By skinny people, we mean the people who are NOT constantly trying to lose weight and are NOT slave to quick-fix diets and still have a lean, healthy body that they feel comfortable with.

Here are five things that skinny people don't tend to do:

1. Skinny people don't skip breakfast.Eating breakfast jump-starts your metabolism. When you wake up, your metabolism is on "slow" and stays that way until you eat. With your metabolism on "go," you're not hungry and eat less. For your metabolism to work (burn fat instead of storing it), you need a carb, a protein and a fat with every meal.

Skinny action item #1: Eat a balanced breakfast daily (carb/protein/fat ). No time? Try oatmeal with nuts and fruit and a mix-with-water protein shake. Or try full grain toast, an apple and a protein shake.

2. Skinny people don't starve themselves. When you don't eat enough, your blood sugar is low, your brain is starving and your body goes into fat storage mode instead of staying in fat burning mode. Skinny people eat consistently so their bodies take the food and use it instead of storing it.

Skinny action item #2: Eat proactively. Eat small meals every few hours and don't skip meals. Eat protein with every meal (even if it's a quick protein shake with water) so your body can metabolize the glucose it needs.

3. Skinny people don't stuff themselves to the gills.Instead, they stop eating before they're too full. And they usually eat balanced meals. Eating carbs, fats and protein at every meal ensures that your metabolism works properly, burning fat instead of storing it. And when your metabolism is working, you feel satiated faster and don't want to eat that much.

Skinny action item #3: Only eat when you're hungry, and stop eating when you're 80% full.

4. Skinny people don't think negatively about their bodies. The occasional bad thought may creep in now and again, but on the whole, people with great bodies tend to feel good about themselves.

Skinny action item #4: Think positive thoughts about your body and health. Not there yet? Fake it till you make it. Write down and recite good skinny thoughts and visualize the skinny you. Pro athletes have been doing visualization like this for years, and it works.

5. Skinny people don't force themselves to eat things they don't like.Skinny people often don't think about what they're eating at all. They just eat when they're hungry and to enjoy a nice meal or even a treat like ice-cream once in a while. They don't deprive themselves so they don't feel the need to binge. But they do almost always eat in moderation.

Skinny action item #5: Eat the things you enjoy in moderation and take a multi-vitamin just in case you don't always get all the nutrients you need.
