Acne can happen at any age. However it is most common in teenagers. Curing acne for good is not an easy task - but it can be done. If you suffer from acne, your self-confidence may not be adequate. Just think about it; can you imagine how that feels? There are best ways to prevent and treat acne and listed below you will find five tips.

1. Sunlight is a common treatment. However, you must be cautious in UV exposure. Be sure to check your medicine directions to make sure that you do not have to avoid sun exposure. Light therapy devices might be a better choice as they have the benefits of sunlight without UV exposure.

2. Use anti-acne or sensitive skin cleansing creams and lotions. These cleansers are designed to dry out the skin.

3. Steer clear of heavy oily cosmetics and hair products. These products can clog pores. This increases your chances for breakouts.

4. Washing your face in the morning and at night will eliminate dead skin cells that accumulate during the day.

5. You don't want the acne to become infected so stay away from touching your face and digging at the pimples. This could also lead to scarring.

There may be an acne breakout that requires prescription medications. These may be very effective in eliminating outbreaks, but might not be as effective on future complications. Not to mention that these medicines can be very costly and have severe side effects.

Did you know there are certain factors that can cause acne and acne breakouts? These range from allergies, environmental pollution, excessive hormones, oily skin and pores, emotional stress, unhealthy diet and even genetics.

The best treatment for curing acne are herbal solutions. These may be used to raise the immune system and fight bacteria that cause acne. Your liver may be able to be free from toxic overload by using certain botanical products.
